OSCAR PETERSON: Canadiana Suite
CJP honors the music of one of the greatest and most influential jazz pianists of all time, often called the heir apparent to the legendary Art Tatum.
March 14 at the American River College Theater, 7 pm
$15 general, $10 student/seniorMarch 28 at the Davis High School Theatre, 7 pm
$12 adult, $8 students/seniors, $5 children junior high age and younger. The Davis High Jazz Band will also be featured on this concert.DUKE ELLINGTON: The Best of the Sacred Concerts

March 21, 3pm at the Crest TheatreCJP joins the Sacramento Master Singers, American River College Jazz Ensemble, and the Harley White Orchestra. $20 admission
Sunday, May 16th: "LATIN WITH STRINGS"
CJP with the Brubeck Institute Jazz Quintet and the ARC Chamber Strings. American River College Theatre, 7:00pm, $15 general, $10 students/seniors.
Sunday, May 30th, 7pm: Sacramento Jazz Festival - one set only!

- CJP Performs at IAJE - Capital Jazz Project performed at the International Association for Jazz Education's annual conference in Long Beach, California in January, 2005. Trumpeter Bobby Shew joined CJP for a set of Clifford Brown music from the CD "A Portrait of Clifford Brown". This was a great chance for jazz musicians and educators from far and wide to check out CJP, as well as vice versa!
- Joe Gilman Wins 2004 Great American Jazz Piano Competition. Congratulations to CJP pianist Joe Gilman, on winning the 2004 Great American Jazz Piano Competition. For 20 years this competition, held in Jacksonville, Florida, has been a proving ground for the world's finest up and coming jazz pianists. Previous winners of this competition have included Marcus Roberts, Lynne Arriale, Deanna Witowski, and Kenny Drew Jr. Other finalists have included such notables as Harry Connick Jr. and Brad Mehldau. The judges for this year's competition included Joe Sample, Bunky Green, Joanne Brackeen, and Marcus Roberts. Read more about Joe.
